DESCRIPTION:The Georgia Department of Community Health adopted an enterpris
 e artificial intelligence policy effective Dec. 8\, 2025. It applies to al
 l DCH employees\, contractors\, vendors and third-party service providers 
 who design\, acquire\, configure\, manage or use AI systems on behalf of D
 CH. Every AI system\, including generative AI and machine learning embedde
 d in enterprise applications\, must be reviewed and approved before use\; 
 AI systems may not use\, store\, share or process PHI\, PII or other HIPAA
 -regulated or federally protected data unless contractually authorized and
  approved by the chief information security officer\; and a human must rev
 iew AI output before it is acted on for any operational\, legal\, clinical

 harm\, meaning significant injury from suicide\, attempted suicide or self
 -harm or significant physical injury from threats of violence\, that refer
 s users to crisis resources including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline\
 , not knowingly and intentionally cause a chatbot to represent that it is 
 licensed\, certified or otherwise authorized to provide professional menta
 l health\, behavioral health\, medical or counseling services unless the o
 perator is lawfully authorized to provide them\, and give minors added con
 tent protections and parental controls\, enforced by the Attorney General.
