Privacy notice

What we collect

Your email address. Your name, if you give it. Your NPI, if you give it, and what the federal NPI registry (NPPES) returns for it: whether the number is an individual's or an organization's, the primary taxonomy (the specialty on record), the practice state, the credential listed, and whether the last name you typed matched the record.

The choices you make on the form: which emails you want, a specialty for the weekly roundup, whether you want alerts for your state. The page you signed up from. The date you agreed to the consent text, and which version of it.

Once you are on the list, the email platform records whether an issue was opened and which links were clicked, as every newsletter platform does.

Why

To send you what you asked for and nothing else. To confirm that you are a licensed physician or clinician and record your specialty and state, so the specialty roundup and the state alerts go to the right readers, and so we can tell sponsors and licensing customers how many verified physicians read the publication, by specialty and by state.

Sponsors see counts. They never see names, email addresses or NPIs, and no sponsor message is sent on their behalf from a list they can see.

Where it is kept

The list is held by beehiiv, a newsletter platform in the United States, whose own privacy policy governs its processing. The website is served by Cloudflare. The NPI check is a query to the public NPPES registry run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; we send it only the number, and the result is stored with your subscription, not on this website.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent the list. We do not share names, email addresses or NPIs with sponsors or anyone else, except a vendor that processes the list for us under contract.

Your choices

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and a link to change what you receive. To have your record deleted, or to correct your NPI, specialty or state, write to us through the contact form and say which address you signed up with.

Cookies and analytics

The site stores one setting in your browser, the theme you chose (dark, light or system). It sets no tracking cookies. If we add page analytics we will say so here, and we will choose a tool that does not track readers across sites.

Changes

This notice carries the date it was last changed. A change that affects what we collect or how we use it goes out to the list before it takes effect.
