- Where the plan names technology
- Washington's plan would fund "critical investments in AI, cybersecurity" and other technology at rural hospitals, noting that "Some rural hospitals have begun investment in ambient artificial intelligence (AI)." Its provider technology fund for non-hospital providers covers telehealth, remote patient monitoring, data infrastructure and AI uses that "may include ambient listening, charting, appointment scheduling, note generation, claims processing."

- Awards
- Sept 16, 2026: $42M to Washington State Hospital Association, as sub-recipient. HCA's webinar slides list this allocation under Activity 1.3 for rural hospital "tech & cyber" investments; the state's plan says the association "will administer the infrastructure fund," from which hospitals may buy AI tools, data platforms and population health tools. Announcement
- Sept 16, 2026: $19.41M to 29 federally recognized Tribes. HCA's webinar slides list this Activity 3.1 allocation for investments in Native health. Announcement
- Sept 16, 2026: $5.43M to The Rural Collaborative, a network of 30 independent public hospitals, as sub-recipient. HCA's webinar slides list this allocation under Activity 1.1, which the state's plan describes as expanding a rural health network. Announcement
- Next
- HCA's program page could not be read for this tracker; this row rests on HCA's bulletins, its project narrative, its Sept. 16, 2026, webinar slides and an RFA amendment. The slides list the rural hospital and provider technology rounds as closed and the opioid treatment provider round as both "RFA posted" and completed; no award announcements for the three rounds had been posted when checked, and HCA's How to participate page says HCA is not currently accepting applications on any competitive bids. HCA extended all three deadlines in August after wildfires in eastern Washington. The slides also list client services contracts "in process" for mobile crisis multidisciplinary teams ($7.93M) and certified community behavioral health clinics ($3.21M), and Year 1 interagency and sole-source agreements for workforce training, EMS transport, dementia care, mobile crisis and youth programs, and say the next program webinar is planned for December 2026.
