Where the plan names technology
Wisconsin's plan includes an Interoperability Infrastructure and Modernization initiative to upgrade rural providers' IT systems, "enhance cybersecurity," expand telehealth and remote monitoring, and build a closed-loop referral network and a digital Rural Health Care Collaborative whose tools "may include AI charting, medication management, remote patient monitoring, and cybersecurity." The state's Rural Technology Transformation Fund lists "ambient AI for notetaking to reduce administrative burdens" and EHR upgrades among eligible uses.

DHS said it expected to announce round 1 Rural Technology Transformation Fund awards in September 2026, and round 2 is expected to begin in summer or fall 2027; no DHS awards had been posted when checked. The Department of Public Instruction lists 21 rural school districts awarded its career and technical education grants, though the same page says 20 schools will receive grants. The care coordination full opportunity is expected in February 2027 for planning grantees. Multi-year amounts are estimates pending CMS approval.
