- West Virginia's plan calls for "AI-empowered navigation of directory and scheduling," "AI-enabled reporting and advanced analytics" on a statewide data spine, provider tools such as "ambient listening, AI-enablement" and "AI-enabled diagnostics" through its HealthTech Appalachia initiative, alongside telehealth, remote patient monitoring, EHR interoperability with the state health information network and cybersecurity upgrades. The Department of Health's request for proposals for a statewide scheduling platform seeks a public interface "with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-empowered navigation."

- The Department of Health's grants page listed "No active funding opportunities at this time" and "No upcoming funding opportunities at this time" when checked. Applications are filed through the state's wvOASIS system, where each round's deadlines and eligibility are posted; those solicitation packets were not read, so most dates are not shown. The program page shows the federal award as "Pending Approval of Revised Budget," and the program's FAQ says all first-year funds must be obligated by Oct. 30, 2026. The department's Aug. 25 release on home dialysis called that solicitation "the final funding opportunity to be released under the WV RHTP."
