Iantrek reports 37.2% IOP drop with bio-reinforced canaloplasty; wearable perimeter debuts; AAO posters report lens data

Iantrek reported topline six-month results from a first-in-human study of bio-reinforced canaloplasty with cataract surgery, with mean intraocular pressure (IOP) down 37.2% in 52 eyes. At the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) 2026 meeting, RadiusXR and Topcon introduced a wearable perimeter, and posters reported intraocular lens formula and Light Adjustable Lens data.

Iantrek announced topline six-month results from a first-in-human, investigator-initiated study of bio-reinforced canaloplasty with cataract surgery; the procedure combines canal dilation with internal structural reinforcement using homologous allograft tissue. In 52 treated eyes, mean intraocular pressure fell 37.2% from a baseline of 22.4 mmHg, 90% of eyes reached 18 mmHg or lower and glaucoma medication use fell 49.1%, according to the company-reported data. Iantrek is evaluating its AlloSpan Canal in the ongoing BOOST study at select U.S. sites.

RadiusXR and Topcon Healthcare introduced InspirePRO, a wearable visual field testing platform designed to support glaucoma diagnosis and monitoring, at the American Academy of Ophthalmology 2026 annual meeting in New Orleans. The companies said it measures from the earliest detectable defects through advanced glaucoma, with background brightness comparable to that of conventional perimetry and high-speed eye tracking to monitor fixation. "Clinicians can now rely on one wearable system throughout every stage of glaucoma," said Ammad Khan, chief executive officer of RadiusXR.

A constant-free ray-tracing intraocular lens formula, Noguchi FS, had a mean absolute error of 0.280 D in 486 eyes of 486 patients, versus 0.297 D for Kane and 0.300 D for EVO 2.0, in an American Academy of Ophthalmology 2026 poster, Ophthalmology Times reported. In another poster, Dr. John Doane of Discover Vision in Leawood, Kansas, reported a retrospective series of 29 eyes of 17 patients with refractive extremes treated with primary piggyback implantation of the Light Adjustable Lens. Mean manifest cylinder fell from 3.1 D before surgery to 1.1 D before light adjustment and 0.1 D after.
