SBRT and prostatectomy show comparable cancer control in PACE-A; tibial nerve implant codes announced; FDA fast-tracks pre-biopsy PSMA-PET

Eight-year results of the PACE-A trial, presented Sept. 28 at the American Society for Radiation Oncology meeting, showed comparable cancer control after stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and radical prostatectomy, with less incontinence after SBRT. Medtronic and BlueWind Medical announced that the American Medical Association (AMA) approved Category I Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for implantable tibial neuromodulation, effective January 2028. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted fast track designation to a phase 3 program testing prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET before biopsy.
